Youth development and access to education are integral components in the long-term accomplishment of peace and order and economic progress in any society. Investing in our youth’s education, physical and mental well-being empowers them with discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills, while also diverting their energies away from negative influences. A well-rounded youth is more likely to become a responsible citizen, contributing positively to the community. Below are some of the priority infrastructure projects on youth and education:

THE BANGSAMORO COMMUNITY YOUTH DEVELOPMENT CENTER

The Center aims to help develop well rounded, thoughtful, confident, and strong youth leaders. The Center aims to help develop well rounded, thoughtful, confident, and strong youth leaders. To do this, the center will have learning resources, hold regular youth leadership training and seminars, and initiate other activities that will help mold the youth become productive citizens. Together with partner-stakeholders, a total of Php 20,000,000was allotted to this initiative.

CAMPING SITE OR JAMBOREE FACILITY

Having a dedicated jamboree or camping site plays a pivotal role in the development of good youth leaders. These outdoor spaces offer an environment that fosters teamwork, resilience, problem-solving, and leadership skills in young individuals. Through activities such as camping, hiking, and team challenges, youth learn to adapt to new situations, work cohesively with their peers, make critical decisions, and take on leadership roles. Php40,000,000 was allotted for the completion of this ambitious project.

DORMITORIES FOR STUDENTS OF MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR

Three state universities and one college were selected to house dormitory projects that will prioritize students coming from Maguindanao del Sur. Php 15,000,000 was allocated to EACH institution (or a total of Php 60,000,000 for all four dormitories): Mindanao State University-Maguindanao (MSU-Maguindanao), University of Southern Mindanao (USM), Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU), and Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology (CFCST).
